PENTA helps First Night Worcester Transform DCU Center

WORCESTER _ Each year on New Year’s Eve, the city of Worcester comes alive with the sights and sounds of First Night Worcester. In previous years, thousands of visitors have enjoyed viewing imaginative sand sculptures, watching “American Idol” type competitions, dancers, jugglers, singers, fireworks and a myriad of performers at various venues, which captivate people from the city and surrounding towns.

This year is no exception, as First Night Worcester 2011 will transform the DCU Center into an eclectic Street Painting Festival. Renowned street painter, Tracy Lee Strum, will be featured, along with artwork created by over 100 artists, that will unfold beneath the feet of First Night goers.

PENTA Communications Inc. has been working with First Night Executive Director Joyce Kressler and the First Night Committee for several years, helping the nonprofit promote its annual arts extravaganza to residents of Worcester and the surrounding region.

“I continue to be in awe of the PENTA team that First Night has had the pleasure to work with over the past several years!” said First Night Executive Director, Joyce Kressler. “There has yet to be a design concept or marketing plan that is not implemented in the most imaginative and professional way. Our requests are consistently met with, “yes we can” – and they do!”

This year, as in past years, PENTA has developed the First Night 2011 website, creative marketing, print and advertising design, as well as the First Night program book. PENTA’s first redesign of the First Night website garnered a prestigious 2008 Prism Award given for best website design from among all the First Night organizations in the country (over 100 were judged). It is the highest recognition given out by First Night International.

“It is an enjoyable experience to work with Joyce and the First Night organization each year,” said PENTA CEO, Deborah Penta. “Joyce brings a perpetual spirit of ingenuity and creativity which inspires our team to help her to continue raising the bar every year. With the goal of marketing First Night to raise awareness and boost attendance numbers annually, we hit the ground running more than six months prior to New Year’s Eve. It’s more important than ever to spread the word and help increasing visibility for sponsorship opportunities and for event attendance.”
