PENTA Celebrates MLK Day with Week-Long Tribute to the Revered Civil Rights Leader

WESTBOROUGH _ On Monday, January 18, 2021, PENTA Communications, Inc. kicked off the week by launching a celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., extending an MLK Day of Service into a Week of Service tribute from January 16 – 24, in honor of the late civil leader’s incredible life and achievements.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired a segregated nation about the power of unity, the power of service, and the power to make change happen by taking action. This message thoroughly resonates with PENTA’s core values and commitment to giving back to the world for the betterment of all. To truly reflect this alignment, the full service, integrated marketing firm dedicated its social media messaging to perpetuating the strong principles Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. demonstrated throughout his lifetime and his memorable words of inspiration, hope, and justice for all mankind.

The weeklong salute started with a compelling message from PENTA Communications, Inc. Founder and CEO Deborah Penta, encouraging all to find ways to give back to their local communities to honor the values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., hoping to inspire others to do the same every day.

“Today, we encourage all of you to think about the ways you can contribute and give back to the world in which you live,” Penta said. “And most importantly, [give back] to your local community by inspiring people with the wonderful words, with the teachings, with the core values, and the principles that meant so much to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and inspired a better future for all of us.”

PENTA’s social media spotlight focused on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s courage to fight for equality, at the forefront of the civil rights movement and never more relevant than now, with a powerful video urging to make justice a true reality.

“Now more than ever, we need to think about this, and we need to take action. We have the power to do it, and we have the power to make change. Let’s do it, for the betterment of all,” Penta said.

With a united community at the heart of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s efforts, PENTA collaborated to share communications touting his words, as published by other respected organizations that paid him tribute, including the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester Regional Airport, Worcester Telegram & Gazette, YWCA Central Massachusetts, United Way of Central Massachusetts, Westborough Police Department, Nobel Prize, and more. Just as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words stand the test of time, so too does the impact of PENTA’s MLK Week of Service, now cemented in social media history.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday was first observed as a federal holiday in 1986, and in 1994, Americorps first led the charge to encourage a day of national service  and giveback, now universally recognized as an MLK Day of Service on the third Monday of each January.
