The Westborough EDC was established in 2009 with a mission to help retain and grow Westborough’s strong economic base by attracting new businesses and working with existing businesses and has been a front-runner in municipal economic development.

The progressive Committee is a comprised of Westborough Town Officials and four appointed business leaders from companies that reside in Westborough. Penta has been a member since 2010.

“We are pleased that Ms. Penta, an experienced business person, will bring her extensive business development and marketing expertise to lead our Economic Development Committee. She has the proven ability to synergize the efforts of our EDC, our EDC Coordinator, and the volunteers that serve on our Committee,” said Jim Malloy, Westborough Town Manager.

“Deborah brings strong leadership skills, creative ideas, a positive outlook, professionalism and market reputation to the Chairmanship of Westborough’s Economic Development Committee,” said Bonnie Sullivan, Vice President of Middlesex Savings Bank and EDC member.

“I’ve known and worked with Deborah in various capacities for nearly 20 years and have always found her to be a true professional and she is a significant and wonderful pick for the EDC Chairman,” said Joseph MacDonough, Vice Chairman of the Westborough EDC and Past President of the former Westborough Bank.

“Deborah is a real asset and a blessing for the EDC for her insight and contributions over the last few years as a member.  And now that she has been nominated and voted in as the new Chairperson, with her direction I feel the EDC will continue to improve and enhance the Town of Westborough to becoming one of the brightest stars in the New England area for Economic Development and desirable places to live, work and play,” said Westborough Building Commissioner Tin Htway and EDC member.

“We are excited to have Deborah step into the role of Chair of the Westborough Economic Development Committee,” said Westborough Selectmen and EDC member, Ian Johnson. “Deborah is uniquely qualified for this important position.  We look forward to her energetic leadership as we continue to move Westborough forward as an attractive community for businesses and residents alike.”
