PENTA Marketing’s AA Sluggers baseball team launches its 2010 season with a woman at the helm

WESTBOROUGH _ Spring officially arrived for the folks at PENTA Communications, Inc. with the start of Westborough’s Little League season as the company sponsored AA team, the Sluggers, marched down Main Street in the Official Little League Parade.

Last month’s Little League parade drew over 500 softball and baseball players from the town. All teams are sponsored by local organizations and the AA League is for kids between 7 and 8 years old. This year, the PENTA Marketing Sluggers, have the unique distinction of being a team that is not only sponsored by a female-owned business, but are also being coached by female executive, Andrea Dumont.

Coach Dumont has been involved in softball and baseball since she was 5 years old. She took her love of baseball/softball to the next level, playing in high school and then college.

“I’ve now been coaching kids at the T-Ball and AA levels for 10 years,” Dumont said. “As I was building my skills over the years, I worked with some great coaches who helped me grow as a player and an athlete. It is now my turn to try and give that same inspiration to others. I hope to help the players realize their potential, while instilling a sense of sportsmanship and love of the game.”

“PENTA is delighted to sponsor Westborough Little League again this year.” said CEO Deborah Penta, of PENTA Communications, Inc. “We’re rooting for the Sluggers and hope the kids have a great season!”
