PENTA Releases Fourth COP Report to the United Nations

WESTBOROUGH__ PENTA Communications, Inc. (PENTA), an integrated full-service marketing firm and a partner of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), has released its fourth Communication on Progress (COP). PENTA recently issued this annual report, which highlights its ongoing devotion to the UNGC’s Ten Principles of corporate integrity and responsibility.

A partner in the United Nations Global Compact since 2013, PENTA has joined forces with international brands including Accenture; The Coca-Cola Company; DuPont; General Electric Company; General Mills; Hilton Worldwide; Intel Corporation; Johnson & Johnson; Microsoft Corporation; Nike, Inc.; Pfizer, Inc.; Starbucks Coffee Company; Tiffany & Co.; and more in their commitment to making a difference. There are only 9,000 participating companies and 4,000 non-business organizations worldwide from 170 countries that participate in the UNGC each year.

At its core, the UNGC is a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals. Partners take steps to govern their corporate responsibilities according to the Ten Principles, which center on Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption, in order to uphold the highest ethical standards with integrity.

PENTA’s UNGC partnership demonstrates the firm’s steadfast dedication to giving back in a myriad of ways to benefit the greater community at large. For PENTA, honoring the UNGC’s Ten Principles means supporting regional and non-profit programs, economic development initiatives, and the education and transformation of today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders.

Throughout the COP year, PENTA offered unwavering dedication to ongoing charitable initiatives and participated as a drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The marketing firm rallied the community to donate more than 300 toys for  local children and families in need, making PENTA one of the most successful drop-off sites in the region, exceeding its previous milestone results.

In addition, PENTA sustained yearly initiatives like the sponsorship of the YWCA Tribute to Women Luncheon & Katharine F. Erskine Awards, which recognize local female leaders who positively impact their communities and champion empowerment and equality for all women. PENTA’s Annual Flag Raising Celebration has become a community tradition, serving to honor distinguished veterans and members of the community who are engaged in the United States Armed Forces. Both programs support PENTA’s firm pledge to Human Rights, one of the UNGC’s Ten Principles.

PENTA’s Leadership Team is committed to actively volunteering board service to community-focused organizations, including Central Massachusetts Workforce Development, the Worcester Business Development Corporation, Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce, the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and its Executive Committee, and the Westborough Economic Development Committee, while serving as Corporators for the Worcester Art Museum, Seven Hills Foundation, Greater Worcester Community Foundation, and more.

When writing of the firm’s projected outlook for 2018, CEO and Founder Deborah Penta noted, “We are looking forward to gathering as a team to continue our community efforts and for the excitement of new endeavors designed to positively impact our community and our planet – one project, one initiative at a time.”
