Deborah Penta

PENTA Communications, Inc.

Deborah Penta is the founder and CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. Deborah works with CEOs, presidents and senior level management at client companies to help shape strategic and effective marketing and advertising programs. Her experience and expertise in both international and domestic markets offer a multi-faceted approach to formulating effective marketing solutions. Currently, Deborah is spearheading growth efforts for PENTA, known as one of the region’s most recognized marketing, advertising and public relations firms. She leads the firm's teams of experts in a myriad of marketing, advertising, public relations and web development disciplines and is the Chairperson of the company’s Community Relations Committee.

Deborah is a business leader, philanthropist and community activist.

She is on the Board of Directors for the Corridor Nine Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC), the Girl Scouts of Montachusett Council and the Catholic Free Press of the Worcester Diocese. In addition, she has held positions on the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western Massachusetts and Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts.

In 2005, she founded the annual Deborah A. Penta Female Leadership Scholarship, which is offered each year to a female high school student who has demonstrated multi-faceted leadership and exemplary academic achievement.

Deborah founded and is the Chairwoman of the PENTA Communications, Inc. Black Tie Dinner Gala and Auction to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts. Under her direction and leadership, the Gala has raised nearly $500,000 to benefit children in the state of Massachusetts with life-threatening medical conditions.

In 2006, she founded FLIC: Female Leadership Interest Council. The Council is a non-profit organization developed to help women build stronger leadership and life skills to foster a mechanism for the effective establishment of mentorship relationships. FLIC is dedicated to bringing “trail-blazing” women to meet women who aspire to reach new heights in their lives.

Deborah was presented with the prestigious Eli Whitney Award in 2005 by the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce for her “perseverance in transforming challenge into innovation.” She received a Woman of Distinction Award in 2002 for her work on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Junior Achievement. Deborah accepted an “Americanism” award by the Ladies Auxiliary of Foreign Wars for her essays on Americanism, and she has received numerous industry awards, including an award for broadcast scriptwriting for which she was recognized by the United States House of Representatives.

In 2005, she was presented with a Citation from the United States House of Representatives for her “outstanding display of entrepreneurial and community spirit” in honor of receiving the Eli Whitney Award.

Deborah is a regularly featured speaker on marketing, advertising and public relations at various conferences. She has been featured in business journals and is a regular guest on radio and television.
